BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, aimed to boost brand awareness for the BYD SEAL, a mid-size sedan with an ocean-inspired design. To navigate the cookieless web and ensure accurate campaign measurement, BYD partnered with their agency RocketMill to find an adtech solution that would help them reach and engage over 50% of online audiences previously unreachable.

Solution

RocketMill discovered the ideal solution with GrowthAds. To highlight the BYD SEAL, they used a GrowthAds-designed interactive lightbox format that allowed users to explore the car’s innovative features. Following this, GrowthAds conducted a Brand Lift Live (BLL) awareness study to measure the impact of BYD’s cookieless advertising on premium sites that aligned with their target audience.

Results

The campaign led to a notable 12% increase in awareness following exposure to the cookieless ad set, which grew to 46% after a few weeks. The greatest impact was seen among 18-34-year-olds, who experienced a 47% awareness lift. Additionally, the campaign proved effective in reaching women and college graduates.

Turning Insights into Effective Optimization

In addition to identifying their ideal audience, BYD’s campaign revealed that larger creatives on desktop devices delivered the best performance. This valuable insight will guide future campaign optimizations.
